Vision

Our technology will enable more sustainable industry and increased energy abundance on Earth and beyond.

Virtues

Why “virtues”?

Many companies define a set of values, which commonly appear as principles that the company strives to embody (e.g., integrity, collaboration).

Virtues are similar but are behavior-oriented. Virtues tell us what we should do rather than how we should be. In other words, virtues are meant to be more actionable.

Solve for the (w)hole

We connect everything to our shared targets, figure out what’s missing, and solve for both. We are systems thinkers who prioritize collaboration while taking independent ownership of problems.

What we look for: curiosity, depth, and rigor. Data-driven, bothered by an unsolved problem, puts collective truth-seeking above personal gain or credit, and doesn’t leave anything on the table.

Kill the snake

Our mission to address climate change demands urgency. We act as decisively as possible when confronted with uncertainty.

[D]on’t go back and play with dead snakes. Too many people waste too much time on decisions that have already been made.”

- Ben Horowitz

What we look for: decisiveness. Seeks truth first, but when the answer is unclear, makes the best decision possible with available information, commits, and owns it.

Make lemonade

We turn obstacles into opportunities. We tackle hard problems first. When challenges arise, we find creative solutions together.

What we look for: resilience, grit, encouragement of others. When confronted with failure, stays positive, keeps at it, and looks for new ways to solve the problem. Motivates and brings others along when times get tough.

Promise and deliver

We are extremely ambitious. Holding ourselves accountable to deliver the results we promise is a shared responsibility. It’s how we show respect to our teammates and our shared mission.

What we look for: ambition and accountability to one’s own targets. Unafraid to encourage and support the same in others.
